About SSAC
The Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) is an independent statutory body that provides impartial advice on social security and related matters. We scrutinise most of the complex secondary legislation that underpins the social security system.
We consider it important that our advice to ministers is well-informed and takes account of a wide range of perspectives. Our stakeholders are key to ensuring that is the case. We aim to provide more timely and dynamic communication through our regular blog posts – an opportunity to start a conversation about our work, in particular our research projects.
